This Basil Pesto Cheesy Puff Pastry Christmas Tree is the perfect blend of flaky puff pastry, rich basil pesto, and melty mozzarella cheese. Decorated with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves, it’s a fun and festive appetizer that’s as delicious as it is beautiful.

Ingredients
1sheet puff pastrythawed
½cupbasil pesto
1cupshredded mozzarella cheese
¼cupgrated Parmesan cheese
1eggbeaten
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Cherry tomatoeshalved (for decoration)
Fresh basil leavesfor garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
Spread basil pesto evenly over the pastry, leaving a border. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Place a second sheet of puff pastry on top and press to seal. Cut into a tree shape, including branches for twisting.
Twist each branch gently to reveal the layers of pesto and cheese.
Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Once cooled slightly, decorate with halved cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves.
