- 2 ½ cups flour
- ½ teaspoon salt optional
- 2 sticks butter cold
- 4 oz cream cheese cold
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- ¾ teaspoon almond extract
- ½ cup Easter M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and chill two cookie sheets.
- Beat cold butter and cream cheese until smooth.
- Mix in sugar, egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract.
- Add flour gradually until dough forms.
- Chill dough briefly if soft.
- Load dough into a cookie press.
- Press cookies onto chilled, ungreased sheets.
- Bake 8 to 11 minutes until edges lightly golden.
- Press an Easter M&M into each cookie immediately.
- Cool briefly, then transfer to a rack.
