Cheesy Tennessee Onions Better Than Onion Rings
A baked onion casserole layered with butter, creamy seasoned mayo, and three cheeses perfectly golden, bubbling, and irresistibly sweet and savory.

Ingredients

large sweet onions
Vidalia or Texas Sweet work best

1 stick unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats

shredded sharp cheddar cheese

shredded mozzarella cheese

grated Parmesan cheese

mayonnaise
1
tsp
garlic powder
1
tsp
paprika
½
tsp
black pepper
½
tsp
salt
½
tsp
dried thyme
optional

tbsp
fresh parsley
chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel and slice onions into ¼-inch rounds; separate rings.
Step 2: Arrange rings in a 9×13-inch dish; dot with butter.
Step 3: Mix mayo, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, salt, and thyme (optional); spread over onions.
Step 4: Top with cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
Step 5: Bake 40–45 minutes until bubbly and golden; broil 1–2 minutes if desired.
Step 6: Rest 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve
