12ouncescream cheesesoftened
¾cupsugar
1teaspoonvanilla extract
½teaspoonalmond extract
4food coloring shades
Babka Dough
4cupsall purpose flour
⅓cupsugar plus 1 teaspoon sugardivided
1teaspoonkosher salt
2¼teaspoonsactive dry yeast
1cupmilkwarmed to 100 to 110°F
2eggs
1teaspoonvanilla extract
10tablespoonsunsalted buttervery soft and cubed
Sugar Syrup
¼cupsugar
¼cupwater
Instructions
Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract, divide into four bowls, tint, set aside.
Warm milk to 100–110°F, mix with sugar and yeast, rest until foamy.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix in flour, sugar, and salt until smooth.
Mix in butter gradually until fully incorporated and sticky.
Let dough rise until doubled, divide, chill briefly.
