Ingredients
1cupall-purpose flour120g
⅓cupunsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder30g
1cupgranulated sugar200g
½cupunsalted buttermelted (115g)
2large eggsroom temperature
¼cupbuttermilk60ml
1tspwhite vinegar
1tsppure vanilla extract
1–2 tsp green gel food coloring
¼tspsalt
1 ½cupssemi-sweet chocolate chips225g
1tbspcoconut oil
Optional: ⅓ cup mini chocolate chips60g
Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts60g – walnuts or pecans
Green sprinklessanding sugar, or edible glitter for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
Whisk flour, cocoa, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla, and green food coloring.
Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth. Fold in optional chips or nuts.
Spread batter in pan and bake for 22–25 minutes. Cool completely.
Break into pieces and mash into a dough. Add milk if dry, or chill if sticky.
Roll into 1-inch balls and chill 30 minutes.
Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil. Dip each truffle and let excess drip.
Decorate while wet and chill again until chocolate sets.
