Ingredients
1 ½cupsall purpose flour
½cupgranulated sugar
½cupunsalted butterchilled and cubed
½teaspoonbaking powder
Pinchof salt
1large egg yolk
½teaspoonvanilla extract
¼teaspoonalmond extract
1cupdried tart cherriesroughly chopped
½cupwhite chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment.
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Cut in chilled butter until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
Mix in egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract until dough forms. Reserve ⅓ for topping.
Press remaining dough into pan for the base.
Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are set. Cool slightly.
Toss chopped dried cherries and white chocolate chips together, then sprinkle over crust.
Crumble reserved dough on top, leaving some filling visible.
Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and gently bubbling.
Cool completely, lift out using parchment, and slice into bars.
