Ingredients
2cups240 g all purpose flour, sifted
1 ½cups300 g granulated sugar
2tablespoons15 g unsweetened cocoa powder
1teaspoonbaking powder
½teaspoonbaking soda
½teaspoonsalt
½cup115 g unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1cup240 ml buttermilk, room temperature
2large eggsroom temperature
2teaspoonsvanilla extract
1teaspoonwhite vinegar
1 to 2teaspoonsgreen food coloring
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
4ounces115 g cream cheese, softened
1cup120 g powdered sugar, sifted
2tablespoons30 ml milk
½teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased 9×13 inch pan.
Sift and whisk all dry ingredients until evenly combined.
Whisk the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring until smooth.
Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients just until combined.
Spread the batter evenly in the pan and tap to remove air bubbles.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until set with moist crumbs.
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Prepare the glaze, spread over the cooled bars, and slice to serve.
