For the Patty Melts:
1lbground beef80/20
1small yellow onionthinly sliced
8slicesrye bread
8slicesSwiss or American cheese
2tablespoonsbutterplus more for toasting

For the Signature Sauce:
⅓cupmayonnaise
1tablespoonketchup
1tablespoonyellow mustard
1tablespoonfinely chopped pickles or relish
1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
¼teaspoongarlic powder

Instructions
Whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickles, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the sauce. Let it sit to meld.
Melt butter in a skillet and cook onions until soft and golden, then set aside.
Divide beef into four portions, shape into thin patties slightly larger than the bread, and season. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
