Ingredients
For the Spaghetti

4quartswater
2tablespoonssalt
¼cupolive oil
6clovesgarlicminced
½teaspoonred pepper flakes optional
¼cupchopped fresh parsley
¼cupgrated Parmesan cheeseplus more for serving
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
For the Garlic Bread
1loaf Italian bread about 24 inches
1cupunsalted butter softened
8clovesgarlicminced
¼cupchopped fresh parsley
¼cupgrated Parmesan cheese
¼teaspoongarlic powder optional
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Boil 4 quarts of salted water, cook spaghetti 8 to 10 minutes until al dente, reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.
Heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic with red pepper flakes for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden.
Add spaghetti to the skillet, toss to coat, and stir in ½ cup pasta water, adding more as needed for a light sauce.
Mix in parsley and Parmesan, season with salt and pepper, and toss until glossy and evenly coated.
Combine softened butter, garlic, parsley, Parmesan, garlic powder if using, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Slice Italian bread lengthwise and spread garlic butter evenly over both halves.
Bake at 375°F for 10 to 12 minutes until golden and bubbly, broiling briefly for extra crispness if desired.
Cool slightly, slice the bread, and serve warm with the spaghetti and extra Parmesan.
