4cupswhole milk
¼teaspoonsalt
3tablespoonsunsweetened cocoa powder
¼cupgranulated sugar
3.5ozdark chocolate60% cocoa, chopped
1tablespooncornstarch
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Reserve ½ cup of milk and set aside. In a saucepan, heat the remaining 3½ cups with salt, cocoa powder, and sugar over medium heat until it gently simmers.
Add chopped dark chocolate and stir until fully melted and smooth. Whisk the reserved milk with cornstarch, then slowly pour it into the hot mixture, stirring until thickened and silky.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract, and serve warm and velvety.
