RECIPE NOTES AND HELPFUL TIPS:

Use high-quality butter for the shortbread to enhance its flavor. Ensure the shortbread is baked until golden but not overly browned.

When making the caramel layer, stir constantly to prevent burning. Achieve a smooth, golden caramel by using low to medium heat.

Melt the chocolate slowly and avoid overheating to prevent it from seizing. Spread the chocolate evenly over the caramel layer for a polished finish.

Allow the shortbread to cool and set in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. This ensures clean, easy slicing and enhances the overall texture.

For clean and neat slices, use a sharp knife dipped in hot water. Wipe the knife between cuts to maintain clean edges.

Experiment with different chocolate types, such as dark, milk, or white, to customize the flavor. Sprinkle sea salt or chopped nuts on top for added texture and taste.
